Essays in Honour of Roman Czaja on the Occasion of His Sixtieth Birthday - Beiträge zur Ritterordens-, Preußen- und Städteforschung. Festschrift für Roman Czaja zum 60. Geburtstag

The sixtieth birthday of a scholar is far from marking the end of a career - an academic career will normally rather blossom much longer -, but nevertheless it is a milestone birthday, and therefore a good occasion to honour the previous achievements. Thus, when László Pósán, also in the name of the University of Debrecen, offered to produce a Festschrift for Roman Czaja, the other editors accepted this idea gratefully. This book will hopefully find kind reception by the honoree and the public. The editors first want to thank all authors for sending us their papers. Probably not all who would have liked to contribute were asked - a wide international academic network like the one which Roman Czaja has build around him is not easily explored -, and thus we expressly include all his friends in the collective congratulations conveyed by this Festschrift. We want to express our deep gratitude to the University of Debrecen (Debreceni Egyetem) for its financial support of the publication, and we also wish to thank Publishing House Printart for the careful production of the book.
